Spring Concert 2010: May 30, 2010 at 3:00pm
Our spring concert will highlight the music of the legendary Stan
Rogers. Nearly three decades following his untimely death, his words
and melodies continue to speak to Canadians, and arrangers from across the
country have been inspired to create choral versions of a wide range of Stan
Rogers' songs.

Atlantic Voices is pleased to announce the
winners of their first-ever choral composition contest!
1st Place: Three Songs of the Sea by Timothy
Cooper of New Brunswick. A medley of 3 lovely poems by New Brunswick
poet Bliss Carman, the score is set as a triptych for choir.
2nd Place: The Brass Band of the Cove by Kurt
Walther of Ottawa. This song, with text written by the composer
himself, pays tribute to the fascinating brass band tradition in outport
Newfoundland.
We will perform both works as part of our May 30, 2010 concert (for more
details keep an eye on our website).
Congratulations to Timothy & Kurt, and thanks to everyone who was
inspired and made a contest submission!
****Do YOU have a song for us? Stayed tuned for our next choral composition
