Join/Member

Atlantic Voices will be accepting new members for the 2011/12 season, and has a specific need for Tenors and Basses.  If you are interested in joining, please contact the president  (president@atlanticvoices.ca).

We sing Newfoundland, Labrador, Maritime and Celtic music.  We practice Tuesday nights at Pleasant Park Baptist Church, and do two major concerts a year.  We also do various events such as singing at the National War Memorial to honour the Battle of Beaumont Hamel, or singing at a seniors’ residence.  There is no audition, and an ability to read music is not necessary to join.  You don’t need to know whether you’re a Tenor or a Bass.  Nor is it necessary to have any connection to the Atlantic Provinces.  All you need is a desire to sing and a love for music from the East Coast.

Membership dues are $40 per half-year (up until Concert #1) or $80 per year (up until Concert #2). Membership dues should be paid at the start of the season to the choir's Treasurer (treasurer@atlanticvoices.ca). Receipts will be issued.

Important! Concert attire is a long-sleeved white blouse/shirt and black ankle-length skirt/pants. Ladies may wear either pants or long skirt (black nylons, socks, and shoes as well, please). Men will be provided with tartan neckties and women with tartan scarves (choice of tartans: Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton, or Labrador). A $10 deposit is required for each tie and scarf. The ties and scarves are the property of the choir. Music must be held in a black binder.
Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings - from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm at the Riverside Churches of Ottawa, 3191 Riverside Drive, Ottawa Ontario on Riverside just south of Walkley Road. The church is marked  on the map below. There is ample parking available. Please note that as a concert approaches, there may be a few extra rehearsals. Can't make it to a rehearsal? Just contact your section representative and let them know!
